3 cups of liver (fresh beef)
1 cup of chicken hearts (do NOT substitute gizzards!)
2 eggs
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of Lecithin (from soy) make sure its granulated or powdered
1 tablespoon of Glucosamine (optional-approximately 10 caplets)
1/2 cup of ground flaxseed (from health food store-you can also use whole seeds).
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put all ingredients except flaxseed in food processor (or blender) and puree for about 2 minutes, slowly add the flaxseed. The mixture will be like cake batter. Spread evenly in an ungreased cookie sheet with sides, it should be about 1/4 inch thick. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until moist but springy to the touch. Cool and cut into 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch squares.
REMEMBER to either refrigerate or freeze all natural treats to avoid spoilage and insect infestation.
